Welcome to Wilder Wirksworth

verges

We are working with the Town and District Councils, as well as engaging local residents, to create wildflower rich verges

celebrating pondlife!

A garden pond is a true wildlife magnet, providing homes, breeding grounds, bathing spots, food and a watering hole for all manner of creatures including birds, frogs, toads, newts and insects. We hope to encourage and support more people to have ponds in their gardens

land for rewilding

We are looking for land in and around Wirksworth where together we can create more space for nature

When possible we hope to work with schools to engage children in nature. The more we notice, the more we care about nature, and work to protect it . We will also plan regular guided walks to look out for flora and fauna in and around Wirksworth

regular talks

We hold bi-monthly meetings to discuss aspects of rewilding and what we can all do to help. Click here for more details.

and what next?

We are always open to new thoughts and ideas, do let us know if you have suggestions
